To enable safe approach of harbour entrances and assure correct navigation on coastal waters and shipping routes, PINTSCH ABEN developed the SLF-3 sector direction light. This high-precision navigation light operates in accordance with the principle of light projection. Using a mirror, lens and red/green colour filters, the SLF-3 precisely spreads three light sectors with a total horizontal divergence of 6°, 12°, 24° or 30°. The white sector – only visible in the centre part of the shipping route - indicates that you follow the safe navigation corridor. Seeing green or red light warns you that the save sector has been left and you are sailing in a danger sector. To take local circumstances into account, the horizontal divergence of the green and red sector can be adjusted separately. The divergence of a sector can be reduced up to 0,2°.

The durable stainless steel SLF-3 housing comes in IP65 design and is fitted out with a lockable, hinged door which can be secured in top position. The mounted sun hood improves light visibility during daytime.  

The SLF-3 can be ordered in 12 VDC or 230 VAC model, both having integrated electronic circuits for flash control (256 light characters can be programmed). For light reduction during the night PINTSCH ABEN developed for the SLF-3 an external, stepless controlled dimmer unit. This unit is supplied optionally.
